When you get one done go on to the next one, but always review old things they have learned often.

POTTY Or similar word in a positive way when they go on leash for you after eating, or at potty time.
Come Come to name, Give a treat when done nicely less and less treats as you go along. Start with a short distances first.

Now if they do not come do not keep repeating it. If you just keep repeating it and get no response it teaches the dog that he does not need to come when called. Just go get it with the leash and say come while you do it.

Down Say down and push him down. Give a treat when done nicely less and less treats as you go along.

Down is much better than sit as it is a very submissive position. that is because iit keeps dogs head still at same level and to dogs that is not a submissive position.

If dog has gotten away from you. Down is best way to gain control while you go get it. Calling to a dog when it has gotten off lead as in across the street is more dangerous because chances are a car can hit him when he tries to get back to you.

It can calm them down fast getting them under control for spurts as pups.

If you are going to do any conformation. It is a better command to start with because they tend to anticipate you and if you show it bait in the show ring they are more likely to sit to get it (if you have taught sit first) and that is not what you want to see.

If it is charging at someone down will stop that and you can go gain control of you dog.

Also being such a tall dog sit does not quite do what you need it to do his head may still be on the dinner table in a sit position ;-).

QUIET (QUUUIEEEETTT) While in the crate at first. You may have to use some negative reinforcement. I have it outlined in the notebook you got with your dog. Itis Titled Crate Whining I believe.  If you do not have this page and ask me for another copy of it. Remember to ask for help on this please! That is what I am here for.
introductions Introduce your pup to strangers, giving treats to the stranger before they pet your dog. Make them behave to get attention and treats. Give a treat when done nicely less and less treats as you go along, praise and socialize!
Leash work Walking on leash with choke collar up as high as possible.

Stay Work on stay command while in down position and also while in standing position. Give a treat when done nicely less and less treats as you go along.
Drop it or similar word You can make it a toy for now, and then give it back in a fun way. I have mine drop it in my hand or on the floor in front of me. Can lead to fetch they learn the can get play this way. It is really useful to let them know to leave something on the ground that they picked up. Can be great for their safety latter if it is something harmful to them.
Move Using the leash say move, and pull him out of the way letting you get through the doorway first or moving him from your path. Once learned it is a great command and you won't need the leash. This helps your dog understand dominance. It is a very important exercise.
 Stand or stack

If you will be showing this dog.

It's called Free baiting, having it know that standing like this giving you all of it's attention, will get it treats and love. This will help you in the show ring.

it is a standing stay command. stacking is outlined on another page

 More "Leash work"

If showing Gate work is important practice moving in a wide circle and a straight line at a jogging pace with long strides. Using long strides makes the dog do the same and extend its gate. Later have someone at end of straight-line give a treat after a good stack; this simulates a judge standing waiting. It makes them excited to get to that spot. It is great for the show ring really impresses the judge, "OUR" little show training secret!

Sit Now that he has mastered these others and knows them well sit can be done If doing conformation always free bait for treats. Doing that will help it not sit automatically when it sees a treat making it Combine sit, stand or stack and down and mix up the commands so they do not anticipate you.
OFF We use off to keep them off the furniture, off your lap when you want it, and off from jumping on people.

Now you are ready for more training! It really never ends giants do love to learn.
